Prague (Praha) is the capital of the Czech Republic. This city is evolving into a modern tourist city with a variety of luxury shops, boutiques, vintage shops, fashion outlets, designer clothing stores, and chain stores, for example the now prestigious avenue of Parizska full of couture labels in fancy international boutiques. The main shopping area runs down Wenceslas Square, along Na Prikope and into Republic Square. Around the Old Town Square and in the Lesser Town small stores sell art, crystal and tourist souvenirs. Prague has two permanent markets, the Havelske trziste and Prazska trznice. In December, the Old Town Square Christmas market and the Namesti Miru Christmas Market offer a mix of arts, craft, food, drink and Prague memorabilia. The markets are nice and cosy attractions and a great place to pick up some unique memento of the city.

The Prague Easter markets display handcrafted goods, all manner of food and drink, and showcase the wonderful old customs of a traditional Czech Easter.
