Prague (Praha) is the capital of the Czech Republic. The main shopping area runs down Wenceslas Square, along Na Prikope and into Republic Square. Around the Old Town Square and in the Lesser Town small stores sell art, crystal and tourist souvenirs. Prague has two permanent markets, the Havelske trziste and Prazska trznice. Other markets are Jiriho z Podebrad a farmers market at Namesti Jiriho z Podebrad 6, Prague flea market at the River embankment, near Palackeho namesti, Prazska trznice (Prague market) at Bubenske nabrezi, Holesovice and Klementinum an antique market at Karlova 1.
In December, the Old Town Square Christmas market and the Namesti Miru Christmas Market offer a mix of arts, craft, food, drink and Prague memorabilia. The markets are nice and cosy attractions and a great place to pick up some unique memento of the city.
